What comes to mind when you think of Jay Z? Is it Beyonce? 99 Problems? The Brooklyn Nets, of which he used to be a minority owner? Certainly marketing and sales don't come to mind. Although, he did coin the phrase, "I'm not a businessman... I'm a business, man." It's not every day a legendary, multi-platinum rapper wins you a ticket to a marketing conference. But that's exactly what happened to me.

I’ve returned from attending the MidWest Acquirers Association's 11th Annual Conference this week in Chicago. It was a good trip and I had the chance to visit with many of our ISOs and payment services partners. It’s apparent that the payment processing industry is heating up again.(Or maybe it was the 90 degree weather?) Mobile payments solutions were hot, of course, but I also received a lot of attention on our new MED-RDC service. A remote deposit capture service just for medical businesses, you ask?Well, yes, and we’re very excited about it.

It looks like 2013 will be chock full of great events for payment industry professionals, ISOs and financial services providers. We've gathered up some dates and locations for these must-attend events and hope to see you there!

Check services can be an important part of a payment provider's suite of offerings. With the availability of new check technology and guarantee services that offer convenience and cost savings, opportunities abound to provide added value to merchants today. These opportunities will be the topic of a panel discussion at the upcoming iPayment conference being held in Las Vegas on May 23 and 24. CrossCheck's Travis Powers, Vice President of Partner and ISO Relations, will be part of the panel discussion titled: Check and ACH Opportunities, Now and in the Future.

Now that the 2012 HFIC has come to a close, and I’ve had some time to reflect on the past six days, I have to consider myself and my company very fortunate to be partners with the NHFA and WHFA. As I stated in my previous blog post this was the first time CrossCheck attended this conference. Prior to the conference, Jason Lindell and I had no idea what to expect. What we experienced was better than we had ever imagined! Compared to the Las Vegas Market and High Point, there was substantially less traffic, but a much more intimate setting. This afforded us some valuable face time with association members, current clients, fellow vendors and the staff at the NHFA and WHFA.
