Enhancements to Address Merchant Needs

Check on Delivery

Check on Delivery (COD) offers the flexibility and security of pre-approving checks over the phone without having the actual check in hand. The service is tailor-made for delivered auto parts and building supplies because payments are guaranteed before the delivery trucks roll. Here’s how it works.

The office receives an authorization number after entering the estimated sale amount and the customer’s phone number on CrossCheck’s online portal. Drivers deliver the order and pick up a check payment. Back at the office, the check data is captured with desktop imagers and is sent to CrossCheck via its online portal where merchants enter the final amount and check number. The payment is now guaranteed by CrossCheck.

Check on Delivery may be added to Standard Check Guarantee, Conversion Plus, or Remote Deposit Capture.

Stop Payment Protection

Stop Payment ProtectionConsumers and businesses may request stop payment on checks for a number of reasons, including insufficient funds, lost or stolen checks or checkbooks, checks mailed to wrong addresses or made out for incorrect amounts, or disputes over purchases such as defective merchandise or poorly written service agreements.

Legitimate businesses experiencing financial harm due to stop payments have options. If all else fails, they can secure Stop Payment Protection from CrossCheck.

Stop Payment Protection eliminates awkward contact with check writers and time spent tracking them down. The service approves out-of-town and out-of-state checks as well as those from Canada and U.S. territories. Businesses of all types benefit from CrossCheck’s Stop Payment Protection and it always includes free 24/7 customer service, tech support, loaner equipment, account setup and staff training.

Stop Payment Protection may be added to Standard Check Guarantee, Conversion Plus, or Remote Deposit Capture.

Home Delivery

iStock-1136249562Home Delivery offers the flexibility and security of pre-approving checks over the phone without having the actual check in hand. Payments are guaranteed before deliveries are made.

To obtain an approval, merchants simply login to their account, select “Pre-Auth Home Delivery Open” in the menu, and enter the customer’s information. After the delivery, they select the “Pre-Auth Home Delivery Close” option, and then scan the check for deposit.

Home Delivery may be bundled with CrossCheck’s Multiple Check service, enabling merchants to accept 2 – 4 checks for a single purchase. The deposit date for each check is designated by the customer over a specific window (usually 30 days). Good credit or credit checks are not needed.
