Auto Dealers: Improve Your Tech to Increase New Car Sales

J.D. Power U.S. Tech Choice Study shows that consumers are placing greater emphasis on the inclusion of onboard technologies when they shop for new cars. According to the study, “there has been an 11% increase in the proportion of consumers who say the lack of the latest technology features is one of the most important reasons why they avoided a specific model or brand.”

technology and new car salesThe study focused on “technologies consumers would choose to purchase for the vehicles at a given price point” and recommends that automakers, suppliers and technology companies “identify which design quality and technological advances consumers most prefer.” The study surveyed consumer preferences in the areas of entertainment and connectivity, comfort and convenience, collision protection, driving assistance, navigation and energy efficiency.

So what does this mean for dealerships possessing acre upon acre of cars equipped with current technologies?

Satisfying early adopters willing to wait overnight in line for the latest iPhone may be impossible since those customers may hold out for tech features arriving in a year or two, but for now, auto dealerships should remain focused on existing options and underline their strengths while showing new cars to consumers.

CrossCheck has a few viable options of its own, especially in the realms of new-car sales and check payment processing. For example, Multiple Check places a selling tool in the hands of dealerships wishing to help customers buy a new car. Customers write 2 – 4 checks equaling the immediate amount due (usually a down-payment) and all bearing the same date, then the dealerships deposit the checks over a period up to 30 days long. It's not financing, there is no credit check, the customer leaves that day with the product and the revenue is guaranteed by us to fall to your bottom line.
