CrossCheck Names James B. “Trip” Mitchell III Chief Information Officer

PETALUMA, Calif. — September 3, 2026 — CrossCheck, a leading provider of payment guarantee solutions, announced today that James B. “Trip” Mitchell III has joined the company as Chief Information Officer (CIO). Mitchell brings more than 25 years of executive technology leadership experience, including extensive work in financial services and other highly regulated industries.

As CIO, Mitchell will lead CrossCheck’s technology strategy and oversee infrastructure, software development, cybersecurity, data, business continuity and disaster recovery, technology vendors, and strategic technology initiatives.

Mitchell will also help guide CrossCheck’s strategy around artificial intelligence, automation, and emerging technologies. He will work across the organization to evaluate new technologies and identify practical opportunities to improve operational efficiency, employee productivity, customer experience, and business decision-making while maintaining strong security, governance, and compliance standards.

Most recently, Mitchell served as Chief Information Officer for United Collection Bureau, where he led enterprise technology strategy, cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud services, telecommunications, business continuity, and digital transformation.

Throughout his career, Mitchell has led large-scale technology organizations and modernization initiatives, including managing annual technology investments exceeding $10 million and leading a global technology organization of more than 75 professionals. His experience also includes developing multi-year technology roadmaps that align technology investments with business priorities.
