CrossCheck Comes to the Aid of California's Valley Fire Victims

Posted by Tom Lombardo on Fri, Sep 18, 2015 @ 10:35 AM

Press Release
For Immediate Release:
September 18, 2015

CrossCheck Red Cross Valley FirePETALUMA, Calif. – Saturday, September 12 started out like a normal weekend in the rolling hillsides of Northern California, but by that evening the inferno that would come to be known as the "Valley Fire" had raged across Lake County towards Napa County

Headquartered less than fifty miles from the crisis, CrossCheck quickly established a fundraiser to assist the fire's victims, and the company rallied to donate just over $2,000 to the American Red Cross even before the crisis was over.

The fire still rages. It's destroyed over 75,000 acres so far even with 3,500 plus firefighters and over 400 fire engines battling it as we write. It's claimed the lives of five civilians, injured four firefighters, and it's only 40 percent contained.

Evacuation orders are in effect in Lake and Napa counties, where 585 homes have already been lost. Another 7,650 homes and 150 commercial properties remain threatened. Evacuees are camping at the Napa Valley Fairgrounds and locations in Kelseyville.

Incredibly, the structure where the fire might have started still stands. Investigators have focused on an outbuilding in the tiny town of Cobb. It's a woodshed with no electricity, and the cause of ignition has not yet been determined. There are no criminal suspicions.

Thankfully, nature helped by showering the area with rain, bringing containment to 40 percent, however temps are expected to soar again by the weekend.

"We're all hoping for the best, and we're very proud of the way our employees have come to the aid of their neighbors," said J. David Siembieda, CrossCheck’s President and CEO. “Our prayers go out to the families affected by the fire, and to the firefighters trying to protect them. We hope our contribution helps.”

CrossCheck Employees Donate to the American Cancer Society

Posted by Tom Lombardo on Thu, Sep 17, 2015 @ 07:00 AM

Press Release
For Immediate Release: September 17, 2015

Check Guarantee CharityPETALUMA, Calif. – CrossCheck, Inc., a thirty-two year old provider of payment and check guarantee services with a long history of philanthropy, contributed an incredible $7,936 to the American Cancer Society this year.

All contributions came from employees participating at company locations in Petaluma, California, Phoenix, Arizona and Dallas, Texas.

By making a contribution, employees could “dress down”, replacing business casual with jeans. The company also held a bake sale, where the culinarily gifted donated goodies and everyone else happily overpaid for them.

Employees made additional contributions by tossing spare change into a collection bucket, and when the total collected there exceeded a certain amount, dress down was extended. This time, shorts and flip-flops were allowed, and Petaluma employees gratefully noted that it happened to coincide with the hottest weather of the summer in Northern California.

The company’s efforts paid off. Of the forty-seven companies participating in this year’s fund raiser, CrossCheck came in third. These efforts matter because cancer is still the second most common cause of death in the country, claiming over 1,600 people a day. Americans spend nearly $90 billion a year for treatment alone.

However, thanks to fundraisers like CrossCheck’s and the dogged efforts of the American Cancer Society, in 2012 the United States celebrated a 20% decline in cancer death rates over the course of the previous twenty years. Two of the Society’s researchers won the Nobel Prize in 2011.

“We’re enormously proud of the way our employees consistently step up and deliver for our community,” said J. David Siembieda, CrossCheck’s President and CEO. “The American Cancer Society has done remarkable work, and we know that happens because people like our employees contribute year after year. We hope our efforts bring some hope into the lives of families across the country.”

CrossCheck Joins the New Jersey Coalition of Automotive Retailers

Posted by Tom Lombardo on Wed, Aug 12, 2015 @ 07:00 AM

Press Release
For Immediate Release:
August 13, 2015

New-Jersey-Coalition-of-Automotive-RetailersPETALUMA, Calif. – CrossCheck, Inc., a payment processing company whose services have enabled auto dealerships nationwide to reduce risk and increase sales, is proud to announce that it has joined the New Jersey Coalition of Automotive Retailers

CrossCheck has been serving auto dealerships for thirty two years. The payment processor’s Auto Industry Remote Deposit Capture solution, called C.A.R.S. for short, bundles services that auto dealers need to close additional sales, to increase service department revenue, and to significantly reduce risk.

Most dealers accept checks in three out of four, or more, of their car sales, and they also accept them for a significant portion of their service department business. CrossCheck’s check guarantee service, included in C.A.R.S., ensures that all the revenue from checks falls to the dealership’s bottom line.

C.A.R.S. also includes Remote Deposit Capture, enabling dealerships to deposit those guaranteed checks right from their back office, eliminating non-productive banking tasks. The solution also includes a Check on Delivery, or C.O.D., program that helps generate additional revenue in parts and service by offering the same guarantee for checks accepted off-site.

And when customers in sales or service need help arranging payment, the package includes a Multiple Check service, commonly known as hold check, which can match payments to the customer’s cash flow without financing and without a credit check.

To see how these services generate sales and reduce risk in the real world, watch a Napa Ford Lincoln executive explain how the program’s features have helped his business across the board.

“We’re proud of our thirty plus years of service to auto dealerships, from nationwide corporations to small-town entrepreneurs,” said J. David Siembieda, CrossCheck President and CEO. “NJCAR does a great job advocating for dealerships, and we’re excited to partner with them to help their members increase sales and reduce risk.”

About NJCAR

The New Jersey Coalition of Automotive Retailers, founded in 1918, is a non-profit organization serving franchised new car and truck retailers throughout New Jersey. NJ CAR’s purpose is to promote the principles of commercial honor and integrity in the sale and service of motor vehicles. The primary objectives of NJ CAR are to further any legitimate interests of its members, to keep its members informed on a variety of business matters, practices, trends and legislation, and to provide special products and services to its members.

Building industry professionals also use other CrossCheck services to increase sales. The company’s C.O.D. service, for example, extends the guarantee to C.O.D. checks, enabling them to more easily close new business while simultaneously accelerating cash flow.

And should a customer need help arranging payment, CrossCheck’s Multiple Check service, commonly known as “hold check,” can enable a builder or supplier to match payments to a client’s time frame -- without financing or a credit check.

Press Release
For Immediate Release: August 5, 2015

PETALUMA, Calif. – CrossCheck, Inc., a check guarantee company that’s been serving the construction industry for over thirty years, has become a member of the Florida Building Material Association

Building materials professionals and entrepreneurs conclude a significant portion of their business by accepting check payments, and so CrossCheck’s check guarantee service has become an essential part of their risk mitigation and business development. Guaranteeing the cash flow from checks usually secures a significant portion of a supplier’s revenue, enabling the supplier to focus on serving their customers and developing their business.

Many suppliers also use other CrossCheck services to increase sales. The company’s C.O.D. service, for example, extends the guarantee to C.O.D. checks, enabling them to accommodate customers who need materials delivered without risking their revenue stream.

Suppliers use CrossCheck’s Multiple Check service, commonly known as “hold check,” to match payments to a customer’s cash flow, closing additional business without financing or requiring a credit check.

These and other services have made CrossCheck’s guarantee integral to the accounting department of hundreds of building materials companies nationwide.

In fact, the Florida Building Material Association is the ninth builders’ association CrossCheck has joined. The company looks forward to bringing its services to FBMA’s members and to supporting the Association as it promotes the building industry in the state of Florida.

“Protecting building materials businesses from risk to their cash flow has been one of our core services for thirty two years,” said J. David Siembieda, CrossCheck President and CEO. “We understand this industry and we’re proud to join FBMA to support their work promoting the building materials industry in Florida.”

About FBMA

The Florida Building Material Association, FBMA, had its inception in the minds of the pioneers of the building materials industry about the turn of the century, but was never carried to completion. The germ persisted with a group of millwork manufacturers meeting in Fort Pierce during a discussion of the Southern Sash Door and Millwork Manufacturers Association, a group of sash and door makers covering the Southern states. In 1920, the progenitor of the Florida Building Material Association, the Florida Lumber and Millwork Association was born. Since its inception, the FBMA has strived to promote the interests of the building material industry throughout the State of Florida.

With thirty two years of experience serving auto dealerships, CrossCheck has a tailored program specifically for the industry. Called the CrossCheck Auto Industry Remote Deposit Capture Solution, or C.A.R.S. for short, it bundles services that auto dealers need to close additional sales, to increase service department revenue, and to significantly reduce risk.

CrossCheck will make its signature product for auto dealerships, the CrossCheck Auto Industry Remote Deposit Capture Solution, or “C.A.R.S.” for short, available to association members.

The product bundles services designed to close sales and protect revenue. Automotive News reported how one dealership saw significant increases in revenue thanks to the bundle of services.

The Wyoming Automobile Dealers Association is the twenty-sixth automobile industry trade association CrossCheck has joined, and the company is pleased to bring its expertise and services to another market by means of an established and respected trade association.

“We have made a sustained and tailored commitment to the automobile industry,” said J. David Siembieda, CrossCheck President and CEO. “And we’re very happy for the opportunity to work with WADA members to help them close more sales and mitigate payments risk.”

“CrossCheck offers services that can take some of the risk and worry out of accepting checks while also enabling our members to provide payment flexibility to their customers. We look forward to having CrossCheck as a member of WADA,” said Chuck Ruwart, WADA President.

CrossCheck #3 in American Cancer Society Relay for Life

Press Release
For Immediate Release:
September 18, 2014

PETALUMA, CA - Company-wide donations from employees at CrossCheck Inc., the most innovative payment approval and guarantee provider in the nation, propelled the company to third place in total donations out of forty-eight participants in the Petaluma Relay for Life event, which provides funds to the American Cancer Society.

The brainchild of a Tacoma, Washington physician in 1985, Relay for Life events now span the globe with millions of participants in over twenty countries taking part in celebrations led by cancer survivors to raise funds for research, awareness, and patient care. In the United States alone over 4 million volunteer participants have raised in excess of $5 billion since the event’s inception.

CrossCheck has fielded a team since 2010 and this year raised $7,250 in the loving memory of those who lost their battle against cancer – and in the defiant spirit of “Fighting Back,” which the Relay organizers consider to be the event’s primary purpose.

Taking place at Casa Grande High School’s football field, survivors presided over the opening ceremony and walked a proud, hopeful lap around the track, cheered on by everyone. Then, to an outpouring of appreciation, caregivers took their lap and the relay began. Later came the “Luminaria Ceremony,” to honor the battles fought by those who were not there, and to help those who were process their grief.

“We’ll be back again next year,” said J. David Siembieda, CrossCheck’s President and CEO, “This is a great event and every company or individual who participates is a hero. We’re very proud of our performance, but we’re even more proud of the hope that the event inspires in our community.”
