Petaluma, California (May 23, 2017) — CrossCheck participated in a fundraising effort for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) during the first two weeks of May, furthering a company-wide commitment to social responsibility.

Employees from the Petaluma, California payments guarantee firm and its associated offices raised $1,800 during dress-down days to help the LLS fulfill its mission of curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

“Our company has a long history of community giving,” said CrossCheck President and CEO J. David (Dave) Siembieda, “and we are happy to add LLS to our growing list of philanthropy.”

The LLS approaches its mission using:

  • Research — The leading edge of cures for all cancers is blood cancer research.
  • Advocacy — LLS’s Policy and Advocacy Team is dedicated to removing barriers and providing patients with access to the therapies that enable them to live longer, better, healthier lives.
  • Patient Support — The LLS Information Resource Center responded to approximately 60,000 inquiries and provided $41.8 million to patients in fiscal year 2015.

crosscheckLSS supported therapies are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers, and are being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. Furthermore, LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.

CrossCheck employees also participate in annual philanthropic programs for the Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, Dallas Fallen Officers Fund, and a turkey drive organized by COTS (Committee on the Shelterless) for a Thanksgiving Day feast at Petaluma Kitchen.
