FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Petaluma, California (October 23, 2017) — CrossCheck, a payments guarantee company, has launched a relief effort to support staff members affected by the Tubbs Fire with paid time off and a crowdfunding campaign.
The CrossCheck headquarters in Petaluma, Sonoma County were unharmed by the fires. There were no interruptions in services or the data center, and it was not necessary to initiate its Disaster Recovery Plan.
Nevertheless, the impact on the entire staff has been profound, including several employees who lost their homes. Consequently, CrossCheck has implemented two programs to provide relief:
- All employees who missed work hours due to this tragedy will receive Paid Time Off.
- A crowdfunding effort was launched via YouCaring to help those who lost their homes.
“Our staff is always quick to help others in need as they contribute to victims of natural disasters and causes such as the American Cancer Society or Salvation Army Angel Tree Program,” said President and CEO J. David Siembieda. “This time, the support will stay in house. All funding will be distributed directly to our affected employees.”
Employees recently contributed a total of $2595 to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts via the American Red Cross. Furthermore, CrossCheck employees regularly participate in holiday food drives that aggregate turkeys and fill barrels of food for the Committee on the Shelterless (COTS) and its Thanksgiving Day turkey drive partner, the Redwood Empire Food Bank.
