The Winter Las Vegas Market 2018 experienced “a record number of both buyers and suppliers” along with an increase in order writing, Las Vegas Market (LVM) reported in a recent press release. The largest home furnishings market in the Western United States attracted home furnishings dealers, designers and retail industry experts from all 50 states and over 77 countries. The mega event took place January 28 – February 1, 2018.
As an established LVM exhibitor, CrossCheck presented key services for furniture dealers in the HFA Retailer Resource Center.
Growth at Winter LVM 2018
Located at the World Market Center (WMC) campus in Las Vegas, attendees viewed thousands of products displayed on 40 floors of showroom space. Merchandise included on-trend furniture, bedding and mattress, lighting, casual and outdoor, decorative accessories, housewares, an antique market, lifestyle products and more. The market welcomed 37 new and expanded gift and home décor showrooms, “significant growth” in the bedding category with 220 resources featured and a record high of 650 gift-oriented housewares, tabletop and specialty food resources presented in both permanent showrooms and temporary exhibits.
Winter LVM 2018 hosted two new and expanding furniture showrooms, increasing total furniture resources to 2,000. The Pavilions temporary exhibitions underwent a major expansion with the opening of a third location, presenting over 500 gift and home décor exhibits. Nearly 200 were first time exhibitors.
The market’s 4,300 plus resources “fueled 13 percent gains in overall buyer attendance.” Within the U.S., buyers from California, Nevada, Texas, Arizona and Utah held the highest attendance rates. Professionals from Canada, Mexico, China, Australia and Columbia lead international attendance rates. Notable increases in category-based attendance included:
- Furniture with the “strongest market-to-market” gains and a 17 percent spike in attendance
- Registered attendance for gifts increased by 12 percent
- Home décor buyer attendance grew by 9 percent
- Attendance by interior designers, architects and contract/hospitality buyers increased by 9 percent
