Veterinary Offices

With a principle of “gold standard quality content,” Veterinary Practice News (VPN) produces current industry news through a network of seasoned behaviorists, nutritionists, researchers and other field experts. Focused on serving industry professionals located in the United States and Canada, VPN magazine is available to subscribers in both print and digital form. The monthly business-to-business magazine operates a corresponding website to provide veterinary offices and professionals with applicable information on new tools and medications, diagnostics and treatment, workplace issues, veterinary education, and upcoming events.

Veterinary News

In the highlighted article “Have You Experienced ‘Vet Shopping’?” VPN alerts readers of a new trend involving clients purposefully injuring companion animals to obtain prescription medications from veterinary offices. Timely topics including the latest office equipment, veterinary award winners, profiles of successful veterinarians and other breaking news publish under the website’s News section. Veterinarians can sign up for VPN’s free email newsletter to receive a collection of top stories.

Practice Management for Veterinary Offices

iStock-623438294.jpgThe Practice Management tab houses all information on management strategies and procedures. The section provides veterinary offices with an array of insightful articles including “Helping Clients See Their Pet’s health Issues as Their Own” by Marty Becker DVM.

Becker discusses his approach along with the importance of connecting a pawed patient’s discomfort and or pain with a client’s own experience. Becker states, “I tell pet owners when I show them a dog or cat’s mouth that looks like a flame-thrower went over it, ‘If you had one single tooth as infected as any one of the dozens that are diseased in this pet’s mouth, you wouldn‘t last a single day without seeking treatment, relief and, hopefully, a cure. Your pet deserves the same level of concern, compassion, care and urgency.’”

Medicine

VPN examines leading medical research, breakthroughs and practice methods under the Medicine tab. All medical articles are “sourced or written by professional veterinarians who specialize in that particular animal.” Medical articles are updated monthly. VPN also produces medical diagnosis quizzes for veterinarians to test an individual’s skills.

Resources on Species

Upcoming Events

A collection of industry events including conferences, webinars and association functions reside in the Events section. Veterinary professionals can search for events within a particular time and or category by utilizing the search calendar feature. The 2017 ACVIM Forum, scheduled for June 8, is the next upcoming event on VPN’s calendar.

Video Archive

Videos of the week, vet clinic tours, surgical videos, and veterinary practice videos can be accessed under the Videos tab. Content includes demonstration videos, case studies, and entertainment.
