Auto dealers are aware of the dreadful feelings that accompany trips to their lot. Automotive News recently released a helpful webinar for car dealers, giving tips and tricks to make the auto purchasing experience more efficient.

The webinar was given on June 22, 2017 and moderated by Phil Nussel, the editor in chief of Automotive News. The two speakers were Susan Bensinger, director of marketing at Front Office Solutions, and Jeff Stafford, the chief marketing officer at Superior Integrated Solutions.

Auto Dealerships Flock to NADA’s 100th Anniversary

Attracting US auto dealerships from around the globe, the 2017 NADA Convention & Expo delivered a mega showcase with 60,000 square feet of exhibitor space, dealer franchise meetings, a multi-track workshop series, small interactive learning sessions, peer learning groups and unlimited options for dining and entertainment. The event was held January 26 – 29, 2017 at the New Orleans Convention Center where the American Truck Dealers (ATD) Convention and Expo ran concurrently.

The festivities begin with NADA 100 Carnival, an opening gala at Mardi Gras World where guests were entertained by Foreigner, Cowboy Mouth and local jazz musicians while enjoying local cuisine.

If one conducts an online research using the title of this article, he/she will encounter nearly one million sites mentioning the search terms. No wonder, with more makes and models on the market than ever, auto dealerships are using smart technology to reach potential customers.

Most software packages for dealerships that are content relationship managers (CRM) versus comprehensive automated marketing platforms. CRM can organize, segment and contact sales leads, but they may not offer all marketing tasks.

On the other hand, automated marketing platforms are comprehensive tools for building brand images while managing lead management and subscriber lists, web sites and inbound marketing, blogs, email campaigns, pay-per-click (PPC) advertising and the essential social channels.

Study: The Deathly Truth About Americans’ Seat Belt Habits

“Click It or Ticket.” We all know the phrase; it’s the most successful safety campaign ever produced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). More than half of passenger vehicle occupants killed between 2010 and 2014 weren’t wearing seat belts and the latest seat belt user rates study reveals that many continue to risk danger by not utilizing one. Despite lap and shoulder seat belts having been produced in every car since 1974, thirty one states reported less than 90% belt use rate.

San Diego GM Retail Service Managers Learn How Checks Increase Sales

Helping service managers discover payment solutions for their auto dealerships is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. If I can address a dozen or so in one place, then I’ve increased the odds of finding personal satisfaction that many times. A recent meeting of the San Diego GM Retail Service Manager’s Club, a division of the New Car Dealers Association San Diego County, offered such an opportunity.

A study by the Center for Automotive Research demonstrates dealerships across America have a profound effect on their state and local economies. “Contribution of New-Car Dealerships to the Economies of All 50 States and the United States” offers compelling narratives, statistics and graphs while providing dealership owners and employees with just cause for pride and optimism.

“New-car dealerships are found in nearly every community across the country,” states the abstract of the 38-page publication. “Auto dealerships employ more than one million people directly and support over 1.18 million private sector jobs nationwide. These jobs result in more than $143 billion in compensation each year and nearly $19.3 billion in personal tax revenues.”
