NRF 2018, the retail industry’s mammoth convention and exposition, is expected to draw over 30,000 attendees with an offering of educational and networking sessions, tradeshow exhibits, special guest presentations, podcasts and receptions. The event is produced by the National Retail Federation (NRF) and scheduled for January 14 – 16 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan.
NRF is the world’s largest retail trade association, representing discount and department stores, home goods and specialty stores, main street merchants, grocers, wholesalers, chain restaurants and internet retailers from the United States and more than 45 countries. Retail is the nation’s largest private-sector employer, supporting one in four U.S. jobs (42 million working American) and contributing $2.6 trillion to annual GDP.
Retail Industry Attendees and Exhibitors
NRF 2018 brings together the largest gathering of retail industry executives to discuss the latest trends while providing attendees with an unparalleled view into how retail brands of all sizes are transforming themselves for the digital age. It also offers “a glimpse of the latest technologies and solutions for retailers.”
NRF attendees span the entire spectrum of the retail industry, including firms large and small. Notable companies registered to attend include Amazon.com, Albertson’s-Safeway Group, Barnes & Noble, Brookstone, Best Buy, Costco, CVS Health, Foot Locker, Hickory Farms, Kohl’s, Lowe’s, Macy’s, Office Depot, PetSmart, Target and Walmart.
Over 600 international exhibitors will vie for the attention of attendees, including firms in accounting and finance, analytics, communications, ecommerce, inventory management, marketing, payment solutions, POS, security and loss prevention, supplies, supply chain and technology.
The Javits Center
The Javits Center is located in the heart of Hudson Yards on the West Side of Manhattan, offering breathtaking views of the Hudson River and a “front row seat to the dramatic revitalization of the neighborhood.” Bordered by the Hudson River, Chelsea, Hell’s Kitchen and Midtown, the West Side is a magnet for creative professionals and digital media firms.
The center are four floors with 760,000 square feet of exhibition space and individual halls that can accommodate a crowd of 150 to 5,000 attendees.

Educational sessions address transformation across four key elements: Technology, Business Performance and Growth, Innovation, and Partnership and Collaborations.

The NRF 2018 Student Program offers special guest speakers and a Career Fair. Over 650 college students, 80+ schools and 25 retail companies are expected to participate. Students are invited to network with “leading retail companies who are looking to fill numerous positions within their company.”
