Lincoln's Core Focus Guaranteed to Increase Auto Dealer Sales

Lincoln-Continental-Hood-_Ornament.jpgAnyone who has ever entered a gym or watched an exercise infomercial on television is familiar with the importance of focusing on your core, but what if the news comes from a longstanding car manufacturer?

Such is the case at the Lincoln Motor Company where management’s decision to focus on its most legendary product, the Lincoln Continental, was revealed in the November 2015 article “Lincoln’s mission: ‘Core segments first’" in Automotive News.

"We've said we need to cover the core segments first," Matt VanDyke, director of global Lincoln, told Automotive News.

Lincoln also mentions that it’s updating the signature look across the entire product line; powering the Continental with a 3.0-liter, turbocharged V-6 engine rated at 400 hp; and adding a dealership in China every 10 days.

The visual changes alone are intriguing.

“After years of tinkering with the split-wing grille drawn from the brand’s earlier years,” states the article, “Lincoln is dropping the polarizing design when the 2017 MKZ arrives next summer. In its place will be the more rectangular shape, filled with a repeating Lincoln star pattern, first seen in March of the Continental Concept.”

The brand is also adding a degree of separation between itself and the parent company by not sharing the power plant mentioned above with vehicles displaying the Ford name.

Lincoln is doing well of late: nearing its first two-year streak of sales increases since 1998, including 16 and 7.5 percent improvements in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Thus, returning to its core in 2016 gives sufficient reason to anticipate continued success.

Core Payment Method - Checks and Check Guarantee

Similarly, CrossCheck focuses on the core payment method of many auto dealerships — accepting checks. When accepting checks, there is inherent risk.

With a check guarantee service in place, checks are approved at the point of sale in seconds via terminal, phone or web before being deposited at the bank. If an approved check is returned from the bank unpaid, it can be submitted to CrossCheck for processing and reimbursement.

“Our managers have nothing but good things to say about the ease of the check guarantee process and the great service from CrossCheck,” said one Central California auto dealership.  "I believe relationships are key to a productive and profitable operation, and you've come through for us every time.”

A check guarantee service can be a simple and economical way to mitigate the risk of accepting checks at your dealership. Click below to learn more.
