Check Processing & Payments Information

Looking at Remote Deposit Capture

Posted by Chris Schumacher | Fri, May 20, 2011 @ 07:31 AM

RDC technology CrossCheck is a member of the Electronic Transaction Association (ETA), an international trade association representing companies who offer electronic transaction processing products and services. Each year the association holds their Annual Meeting & Expo, an event that attracts hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of attendees that come to display, present and discuss the latest and greatest in payment processing technology, services and equipment.

This year the event, held in San Diego on May 10-12, was action packed and offered insight on mobile payments, upcoming federal regulations, ACH rules, ecommerce processing and more. The Expo illustrates that the payments arena continues to evolve to meet the needs and wants of today's retail businesses, global payment providers and the mobile-equipped consumer. So how does that connect with your business?

CrossCheck has exhibited at ETA for several years and this time showed off their Remote Deposit Capture Plus service, an RDC solution. Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) offers electronic processing and deposit of check payments at the point-of-sale. The benefits are many and align with the desire to reduce time spent on check handling and deposits. Here's a brief look at RDC:

Less time at the bank- Remote Deposit Capture services provide just that...a deposit from a remote location -- usually your place of business. With RDC, checks can be processed through a check imager connected to your PC. Deposits are uploaded to your service provider daily and electronically processed and deposited into your account, eliminating a trip to the bank by you or a staff member.

Consolidated deposits - Electronic deposit can be a real convenience when you have several locations, or a bank that is not accessible to your office. With RDC you can have funds deposited in a bank that is physically located across the country, for example. Or diverse store locations can deposit into the same account, which may help with cash flow.

Online reporting - Many RDC programs offer online web reporting that provides a snap shot of transaction activity. You can access your account 24/7 and view deposits amounts and funding all in one place and run reports based on periods of time. Premium services - Special enhancements that provide check guarantee benefits and programs that enable automatic deposit of multiple checks (to spread payments out over a period of time) are available to allow you to better serve customers or clients that prefer check payments.

RDC is just one of the many payment services presented at ETA that incorporates technology with time-saving tools to save businesses money and provide options to consumers. Now is a great time to ask your payment provider if there are new services available that can benefit you and your customers.

CrossCheck offers a wide range of traditional and new payment processing services including standard guarantee for paper checks and remote deposit capture for electronically processed checks. We would love to hear from you. Call (888) YES-2CHX or email us at sales@cross-check.com
