The Annual Reward and Recognition Sales Conference produced by BB&T Merchant Services is representative of the favorable relationship that exists between CrossCheck and its resellers. The event takes place February 12 – 13 at the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley in North Carolina and features service providers within BB&T’s Merchant Services portfolio. CrossCheck has been BB&T’s exclusive Check Guarantee company since 2014.

Eighty BB&T sales consultants and 40 of their support associates from the District of Columbia through the southern states and Texas are expected to attend and meet representatives from service providers in attendance. Two members of CrossCheck’s Partner and ISO Relations department, Vice President Travis Powers and National Sales Trainer Todd Little, will be on hand to reinforce old relationships and kindle some new ones.

CrossCheck was founded in 1983 with a clear vision of creating mutually beneficial relationships with resellers. Independent sales organizations (ISOs) joined early and the partners program was added in 1998.

“Many of our early partners are still on board,” said Powers. “The quality of our merchant services — which deliver value and mitigate merchant risks — plays an important role in attracting them.”

The solid relationship between the two companies as well as the quality of services offered to clients is underlined by BB&T’s framing of its merchant services as a "Value Added Reseller Program."

“We are one of the strongest banks in the United States and we also have the largest completely bank-owned merchant portfolio,” states BB&T Merchant Services. “We offer our clients security and cutting-edge processing solutions at affordable rates.”

Similarly, BB&T Merchant Services and other CrossCheck partners reap the benefits of working with a company that remains focused on providing merchants with cost-effective payment processing solutions.

Little says his resellers department is effectively a support group: “We help partners and ISOs sell, we instruct them on how merchants use our services, and we provide specialized customer service to merchants.”

His training capacity also entails generating instructional PowerPoint presentations that are often individualized for particular resellers. Little has been conducting weekly webinars via GoToMeeting.com since 2010, and also presents monthly webinars on specific services, industries or trending news.

Benefits for Resellers and Merchants

Powers and Little are very fluent in reiterating CrossCheck’s “big four product differentiation” — training, support, merchant retention and lifetime residuals for ISOs. Tying those concepts together, CrossCheck’s commitment to proper training in conjunction with superior customer service creates a level of merchant retention that fosters even greater lifetime residuals for ISOs.

The benefits come full circle when brought to the level of merchants who have grown accustomed to CrossCheck services that help increase sales and mitigate risk while saving time and money.
