A February 2016 Google study entitled “Vehicle Tires & Tires Parts” states that mobile queries for vehicle tires and tire parts grew by 42% in the fourth quarter of 2015. Meanwhile, desktop and tablet searches in the same category declined by 1% each. The 11-page update shows little change in desktop and tablet activity since May 2013, but a steady rise in mobile use over the same period.
The study confirms that mobile devices have stimulated the rapid growth of online searches for tires, tire parts and wheels, providing dealers with a statistical basis for planning their short-term marketing strategies. Thus, autoafter dealers with responsive websites (i.e. optimized for mobile viewing) stand a greater chance of increasing sales.
Overall queries in the vehicle tire and tire parts category grew by 20% in the last quarter of 2015, creating a favorable sales climate for tire dealers. The study concluded that "64% of all searches are now on mobile devices.”
