TRANSACT, the most notable tradeshow and conference in payments technology, takes place April 17 – 19, 2018 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The event is produced by the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), the world's largest payments industry trade group and is an annual destination for financial institutions, networks, payments companies, FinTech, technology innovators and resellers of payments processing services.
TRANSACT 2018 features nearly three full days of programming: tradeshow, networking opportunities, business luncheons and dinners, galas and awards, seminars and keynotes by leaders in payments technology.
The global event is attended by business people shaping the payments-sphere from all American states and territories as well as 24 countries. Attendees include industry leaders, startup innovators and disruptors of payments technology.
ETA anticipates favorable attendee numbers:
- 4,000 overall
- 1000+ C-Level executives
- 500+ companies
- 1,400 first-time TRANSACT participants in 2016
In previous years, approximately 60 percent of attendees scheduled six or more meetings with exhibitors while 25 percent scheduled 11 or more meetings. Furthermore, dozens of reporters from around the world cover TRANSACT 2018, providing media coverage for payments innovations and company news.
New Offerings at TRANSACT 2018
Discounts and Free Passes
No discussion of “payments technology” should be without a mention of “reduced payments.” Consequently, ETA has instituted better rates for 2018 attendees: a $450 member/non-member registration rate for non-exhibiting small businesses, ISVs, agents and ISOs that qualify.
ETA will also continue the Exhibitor Invites program. More than 20 exhibitors used the program last year to provide over 200 free passes to partners/clients that never attended TRANSACT in the past.
With this year’s keynotes and panels, focus has been shifted to the partnerships that drive the industry forward versus the sales pitches. "The real players in payments discuss not only the biggest deals and opportunities they’ve witnessed themselves, but the ones they foresee in the industry’s future."
Designed with new ETA members and TRANSACT ﬁrst-time attendees in mind, ETA Connects is a chance for them to meet with a seasoned industry professional and gain insight about the best sessions and events based on individual interests.
Young Payments Professionals Programming
Up-and-coming payments professionals looking to gain traction in the industry are invited to view ETA’s 2018 class of Young Payments Professionals (YPPs) as they lead sessions on the latest trends, issues and opportunities that are important to today’s rising payments professionals.
40 Under 40
ETA’s 40 Under 40 recognizes the leaders and influencers who create secure, reliable and rewarding experiences throughout the payments ecosystem for both merchants and consumers. Honorees will be recognized at the reception prior to the Visa President’s Dinner.
ETA Law School
Because payments companies face a variety of unique legal issues, ETA Law School provides invaluable insight from prominent legal minds immersed in the industry. Attendees can learn from discussions on the challenges facing the industry and leave with a better understanding of important measures to take.
Three new micro-credentialing programs will launch at TRANSACT 2018:
- Risk — Based on the ETA Risk Guidelines for ISOs, this certificate program covers comprehensive underwriting, risk monitoring and ISO oversight policies.
- Risk for Payments Facilitators — Based on the ETA Payments Facilitator guidelines, this certificate program covers underwriting, risk monitoring and financial administration associated with the custodial role of funds settlement to sub-merchants.
- Loyalty — The global customer loyalty marketplace is estimated at more than $200 billion annually. This program prepares attendees to take advantage of these programs and create a competitive edge and increase profits.
The TRANSACT Meeting Hub is a cluster of hard-walled meeting rooms located on the tradeshow floor. Amenities are a function of the room size (20 x 20,’ 10 x 10’ and smaller Meeting Pods) and include locking doors, tables, chairs, wastebasket, electrical circuit and carpeting. Meeting Hubs will be the nexus of engagement for attendees looking to schedule and meet with potential business partners in a private setting.
Keynotes on the Tradeshow Floor
ETA promises to update the look, feel and delivery of keynotes in 2018. Less formal and more engaging than a traditional keynote setup, it will reconfigure the expo floor to accommodate "ted-talk" style keynotes. The keynote stage on the show floor will include traditional theater seating as well as a variety of seating options such as standing bistro tables in overflow sections.
Other Opportunities for Payments Technology Professionals
Members of CrossCheck’s Partners and ISO Relations team will be in booth #736 (in the center of the expo hall) during exhibit hall hours. Vice President Travis Powers, Director of Partner Acquisitions Brandes Elitch, and National Sales Trainer Todd Little will discuss reselling and referral opportunities for CrossCheck partner organizations and ISOs.
