IMG_0180_blog_social_press-1.jpgPetaluma, Calif. (December 21, 2017) — Employees of CrossCheck and its subsidiary Optio Solutions celebrated seasonal giving by participating in the Salvation Army Angel Tree program and the Annual Food & Funds Drive for the Redwood Empire Food Bank. Individuals placed dozens of Christmas presents under the Angel Tree and filled large barrels of food for the drive.

Employees selected tags from the decorated Angel Tree to fulfill one of the suggested gift requests. The Salvation Army of Petaluma provides hundreds of gifts each Christmas to children in need via this program. Low income families with children ages 0 – 17 are invited to sign up for gifts.

The Redwood Empire Food Bank’s Annual Food & Funds Drive enables thousands of Sonoma County businesses, schools, community centers, organizations and individuals to help the one-in-six Sonoma County residents struggling with hunger.

“Our employees participate in year-round community giving,” said CEO, J. David Siembieda. “The Angel Tree program and the Food Bank’s annual drive are among our favorites because they help bring joy to children and feed hungry people of all ages during the holidays.”

IMG_0174_social_press_crop.jpgCrossCheck and Optio Solutions employees are frequent contributors to national and local fundraising campaigns. This year’s efforts included the Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society, Leukemia-Lymphoma Society, Miracle League, ACA International Education Foundation and American Red Cross efforts to assist victims of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. The companies also supported staff members affected by the Tubbs Fire with paid time off and a crowdfunding campaign via YouCaring.

The Redwood Empire Food Bank (REFB) is the largest hunger-relief organization serving north coastal California from Sonoma County to the Oregon border. Since 1987, the REFB has provided food and nourishment to those facing hunger, currently serving 82,000 children, families and seniors in Sonoma County, while striving to end hunger in our community.

The Petaluma Corps of the Salvation Army organizes fundraising efforts and provides other ways for locals to help their community via volunteer work or donations.
