With the new tagline, “Discover the Extraordinary,” the 2017 Summer Las Vegas Market (LVM) invites attendees to “leave behind the expected and discover the extraordinary.” As the only home furnishings market in the Western United States, the bi-annual event — Summer LVM and Winter LVM — attracts tens of thousands of retail industry stakeholders from 76 countries and all 50 states each year. With over 4,100 leading brands and manufacturers presented, seminars focused on current retail trends and networking events tailored to specialized trades, home furnishings dealers will find an assortment of resources at Summer LVM.
The market takes place July 30 – August 3 at the World Market Center Campus in Las Vegas. Attendees will wander through five million square feet of showroom space filled with furniture, housewares, home textiles, lifestyle products, general gift, lighting, bedding and mattresses, casual and outdoor products, decorative accessories, wall art, floor coverings and more.
As an established LVM exhibitor, CrossCheck returns to the mega market in the HFA Retailer Resource Center (details below).
Shopping Guide for Home Furnishings Dealers
Forty floors of permanent showrooms and three temporary exhibits will house the largest exhibition of gift, lifestyle brands, home décor and furniture in the West. Furniture products at Summer LVM include antique and vintage finds, accent furniture, bedroom, dinning, office, youth and outdoor furnishings.
To ensure a successful visit, home furnishings dealers can review the Las Vegas Market’s before-market tips:
- Calculate Open-to-Buy (OTB) — develop a shopping list and budget for categories of interest
- Prepare materials needed for attendance — credit references, address labels, purchase record, list of current vendors and address labels
- Schedule appointments with vendors
For a complete list of vendor product and company descriptions, consult the exhibitor directory.
Education and Networking Events
Developed for buyers, designers and retailers, Summer LVM seminars explores current and projected industry trends through highlighting various specialties such as non-profit retail, antique and vintage, fair-trade and gift shop merchandise. The original programming offers Continuing Education (CEU) credits.
On Sunday, Home Furnishings News (HFN) Publisher and Editorial Director Maureen Azzato will moderate “Millennials: How and Why They Buy.” Slotted with industry leaders, this discussion panel examines millennial purchasing habits, reasoning behind purchases, how manufacturers are currently catering to the generation and what prompts the technologically literate group to choose in-store purchases over online. The seminar concludes with a Q & A to drive further discussion.
Features Editor of Casual Living Magazine Jennifer Bringle will present “Trends of 2017” on Sunday. Substantiated by the magazine’s independent research, Bringle will outline growth and trend predictions for 2017. One finding suggests growth in full-line furniture stores. Lunch will follow the presentation.
