CrossCheck at WHFA Las Vegas Market - Day Three Recap

Charles Dortch and Newt Gingrich III’ll sum up day three in one word - Slow. Despite this, we gained some stellar new clients and I had some face time with presidential hopeful, Newt Gingrich.

I'd like to shift gears for a moment and shine some light on a group of people who are really good at what they do and deserve to be recognized. Without the assistance of this incredibly dynamic group of individuals, CrossCheck’s experience at furniture markets would be less successful.

My company has many association partners across a variety of industries, including the home furnishings, automotive and building materials industries. The primary goal of these strategic partnerships is to offer value added services to the members that allow them to increase sales, improve cash flow and reduce risk. In combination, these three components ultimately help business owners grow their businesses.

Any time a vendor is choosing to align itself with an association, it is very important that both parties develop a strong relationship based on clear communication and realistic, attainable expectations and goals.

As I write, I immediately begin to think of CrossCheck’s relationship with the Western Home Furnishings Association and the National Home Furnishings Association.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with both groups over the past two years and I can say without reservation, they do an incredible job of servicing the members of the home furnishings industry.

They make certain that all incoming and current members are made aware of all the products and services available to them through the association.

They are excellent at the planning of events and seminars which take place within the Retail Resource Centers at both Las Vegas Markets, High Point Market and the Home Furnishings Industry Conference.

They also take the time to fully understand the vast array of products and services being offered by their vendor partners so they can accurately explain how these programs work when speaking with a prospective or current member.  If a situation ever arises where there is a lack of communication or miscommunication between a vendor and an association member, the member services reps at the WHFA and NHFA are always willing to step in and assist in any way possible.

They even go so far as to facilitate and host networking events for the next generation of major players in the industry. In short, they do incredible work.

So, to Cindi, Adam, Mike, Jordan, Kaprice, Sharron, Karin, Jeff, Lisa, Tim, Danielle, Melissa, Steve and everyone else at both associations that have worked hard to make our partnership a successful one, thank you and keep up the good work!

Finally, I'd like to say congratulations to the winner of our drawing for a $100 gift certificate to Ruth's Chris Steak House.  The winner was Lee Goodman, President & CEO of Jerome's Furniture.  Enjoy your meal, Lee!
